Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor ensures smooth and efficient daily warehouse operations in a food manufacturing and distribution environment. This includes managing staff, ensuring proper storage and handling of food products, maintaining safety and hygiene standards, and coordinating inventory and logistics activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and lead warehouse staff in day-to-day operations (receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching food items).
- Ensure all food products are stored in accordance with FIFO/FEFO principles and comply with food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report discrepancies or expiries.
- Ensure all food handling and storage procedures align with HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse and storage areas at all times.
- Coordinate incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and proper dispatch timing.
- Supervise loading/unloading of goods, ensuring safe handling and proper stacking to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, returns, transfers, and waste.
- Schedule and manage manpower effectively to meet operational needs.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure staff use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct orientation and on-the-job training for new warehouse personnel.
- Collaborate with Procurement, QA/QC, Production, and Logistics departments.
- Monitor the performance of warehouse staff and provide coaching and discipline when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse setting, preferably in the food industry.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FIFO/FEFO, and basic food safety standards.
- Experience in using warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Physically fit and able to work in varying warehouse temperatures (cold storage if applicable).
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, or holidays when required.
