Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, timely dispatch and receipt of goods, proper warehouse organization, and compliance with safety and hygiene standards. This role plays a key part in supporting the company's supply chain by coordinating closely with production, procurement, logistics, and retail teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts.
- Implement effective inventory control procedures to minimize wastage, spoilage, pilferage, and stock discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers and production teams to ensure timely replenishment.
- Receiving and Dispatching
- Supervise the proper receiving, inspection, and documentation of all inbound goods.
- Oversee the dispatch and distribution of goods to retail stores, franchises, and partner outlets.
- Ensure quality control protocols are followed during receiving and dispatching.
- Enforce correct storage techniques to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Warehouse Operations & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse layout.
- Ensure the implementation of FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) systems.
- Monitor and assign tasks to warehouse staff to optimize productivity and accuracy.
- Logistics & Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics departments for smooth operations.
- Monitor delivery schedules and address any delays or bottlenecks.
- Ensure timely dispatch of bakery products to meet daily sales and replenishment requirements.
- Staff Management & Training
- Supervise warehouse personnel and ensure alignment with company policies and work ethics.
- Conduct onboarding and regular training on warehouse safety, inventory procedures, and productivity techniques.
- Evaluate staff performance, recommend promotions, rewards, or disciplinary action when necessary.
- Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Ensure all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, storage racks, weighing scales) are regularly inspected and properly maintained.
- Coordinate necessary repairs and preventive maintenance to reduce operational disruptions.
- Ensure the availability and functionality of safety tools and equipment such as PPE, fire extinguishers, and emergency kits.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety protocols, and occupational health standards.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory movements, damages, shortages, and other key metrics.
- Conduct warehouse risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a food manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Proficient in inventory systems and warehouse management software.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards, and workplace safety regulations.
