About the job Telephone Techician

Purpose of the Position:

  • Accountable for the repairs and maintenance of all telephone equipment and facilities of the company and selected affiliates, subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitors trunk lines to ensure availability of incoming and outgoing calls through the PABX. - 25%
  2. Prepares and process telephone billing statements and reports distribution to department users. - 25%
  3. Manages corrective and preventive maintenance of telephones, FAX Machines and cabling facilities of the company. - 25%
  4. Facilitates installation, repairs and maintenance of the Area/Branch Telephone Systems and telephone lines to ensure continuous telephone operations. - 15%
  5. Installs cabling facilities needed for the companys applications in the head office, area, branches and remote offices. - 15%

Scope and Limitations:

  1. Accountable for the installation and operations of the area/branch Telephone Systems and the maintenance of structured cabling for the Head Office, branches and remote business office.
  2. Responsible for the preparation of payments of telephone billing statements and the report distribution to the department users.

Qualifications:

  • Educational requirements - Must be a graduate of technical courses, preferably telephone technician, computer technician or its equivalent. 
  • Experiential requirements - Must have at least 2 year exposure on telephone systems and structured cabling.
  • Required interpersonal skills: Must possess good customer orientation and good communication skills. 
  • Must be good in problem solving and analysis. 
  • Knowledgeable with the following telephone equipment and facilities:
    - Key Telephone Systems and FAX machines.
    - Structured Cablings operations and standards.
    - Able to read and understand the Printed Circuit Board necessary for the component repair of telephones and the Key Telephone System components.
  • Knowledgeable with Call Accounting System needed for Telephone Billings.
  • Basic and advance training on PABX features, functions and configurations
  • Basic and Advance training on structured cabling and voip/ip phone set-up.
  • In-depth training in technical trouble shooting and solutions to voice communication problems
