Purpose of the Position:
- Responsible for ensuring overall design and update of the system architecture to optimize the use of information technology and communication systems, equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the standardization of operating systems, database management system, programming languages, application and web server platforms and other system components used in delivering the services of the company. - 20%
- Responsible for the capacity management processes to ensure maximum utilization of all available and appropriate hardware, network and software and the continuous availability of these resources. - 20%
- Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate systems management and automation tools are in place to manage, control and monitor the system infrastructure, applications, databases and facilities. - 20%
- Responsible for ensuring that the research, evaluation, implementation and development functions are carried out to keep the company's infrastructure and systems abreast with the latest development and use of applicable emerging technologies and communications. - 20%
- Responsible for managing the implementation of high impact projects that target to improve current application systems availability and efficiency while continuing to leverage on existing infrastructure and pursuing alternative methods that will prove more cost effective
Scope and Limitations:
- Provide overall direction for the department in ensuring key result areas and the accompanying action plans are accomplished beyond expectation
- Provide overall direction in the implementation of high impact special projects aimed at improving overall system availability and efficiency while leveraging on existing infrastructure and focusing on cost savings
- Provide support for the initiatives set by the company.
1. Plans, Leads, Coordinates and Controls all activities of the department to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the department and the company as a whole.
2. Accountable for the performance of effective and efficient capacity management to ensure continued availability and optimum performance and attuned to business needs.
3. Formulates and organizes objectives, plans and targets for the section and breaks this down for individual unit assignment
4. Accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of the companys products and services through the rendered functions and services of the department
5. Manages and organizes activities and liaises with other departments to ensure the achievement of objectives and plans
6. Provide input and advice in the development and delivery of the products and services considering the functions and services delivered and handled by the department
7. Serves as the guru in providing areas for consideration and improvement in the field of systems architecture and infrastructure.
8. Requires an adaptive and creative thinking to provide decisive and alternative approaches in process, procedures and guideline formulation as well as in the area of problem solving
9. Process and discern what is applicable and best suitable method to be used in the improvement of the services and functions handled
10. Accountable for the resources managed and operated by the department with direct impact in the delivery of the products and services that directly affect end users and customers
11. Accountable for the functions and services rendered are accurate and precise to avoid any system outages that affects the companys image and reputation and its overall efficiency
12. Oversees the design, setup and publication of standard procedures and guidelines in the use of all systems management and automation tools
13. Accountable for the design and implementation of baseline measures in the utilization of all system related resources with focus on providing pro-active triggers to allow for early detection of over utilization.
14. Oversees the technical working committee in the processing of Request for Information and Proposals (RFI and RFP)
15. Accountable for the design and technical standards to be used for existing and upcoming systems and infrastructure. Reviews and approves the technical evaluation, weights and scoring for projects.
16. Continously keep abreast of technological advancements by attending product briefings, vendor presentation
17. Conduct technology briefings or information dissemination for the board, executive and middle level management regarding IT trends and directions, standards, and applications
18. Management of the assessment of current information systems, supporting organization, techniques / technologies / methodologies
19. Establish a shared vision for the role of information systems throughout the organization and define possible use of technological advancements to address business requirements
20. Continuously devise and promote cost cutting measures to ensure that the department operates within operating budgets set.
21. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements Must be a graduate of an I.T/ Computer Science or related Engineering or Technology Courses
- Experiential Requirements Must have at least 5 years of exposure in IT System Architecture Design related work. With at least 10 years supervisory experience leading a technical team
- Required Interpersonal Skills: Must be a good team player with a customer-oriented attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent supervisory skills.
- Must have excellent project management skill and has the capability to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Must have extensive people management skills"
