Purpose of the Position:

  • Responsible for providing relevant data, projections and statistics to the System Architecture Unit to maintain the status of the companys enterprise architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulates and recommends the overall design of the systems, storage and network infrastructure capacity and performance management and monitoring to ensure its availability and reliability in delivering the services required. - 20%
  2. Formulates and recommends the standardization of parameters and setup of operating systems, database management system, platforms, network and other system and network components to ensure optimum level of performance and capacity. - 20%
  3. Responsible for the capacity management processes to ensure maximum utilization of all available and appropriate hardware, network and software and the continuous availability of these resources. - 20%
  4. Responsible for ensuring that the systems management and automation tools are properly configured and running to monitor and collect pertinent data to reflect performance and be used for capacity forecasting and projections. - 20%
  5. Provide overall direction for the unit in ensuring key result areas and the accompanying action plans are accomplished beyond expectation and provide support for the initiatives set by the company - 20%

Scope and Limitations:

  1. Plan, Lead, Coordinate and Control all the related activities required in configuration, maintenance and tuning of all systems and applications in terms of performance and capacity management considerations.
  2. Formulates and organizes objectives, plans and targets for the unit and breaks these down for individual assignment to the units personnel.
  3. Formulates and recommends actions to be taken for customer servicing to ensure consistent and uniformed delivery of service
  4. Ensures the efficient and effective delivery of the companys products and services through the rendered functions and services of the unit
  5. Formulates and updates the performance consideration and configuration of technical and system architecture and provide these as input to the overall enterprise system infrastructure
  6. Handles difficult situations that affects several units of ITD and its customers, providing solutions and appropriate action to satisfy and address all concerns
  7. Utilizes defined and/or ad-hoc methods, executed in an orderly manner in providing solutions for exceptions and other situations that have issues/concerns
  8. Conceptualizes and assesses the problem / situation faced and identifies core issues to determine the best course of action in resolving the situation. Coordinates with the Technical Services Department units for all actions to be taken.
  9. Manages and organizes activities and work that cut across several units of ITD towards achieving defined objectives and plans
  10. Provide input and advice in the development and delivery of the company's products and services considering the functions and services delivered and handled by the unit
  11. Able to associate and relate the business and technical aspects of the company's products, services and operations to ensure the efficient utilization of resources
  12. Serves as the guru in providing areas for consideration and improvement in the field of Capacity and Performance Management
  13. Able to process and discern what is applicable and best suitable method to be used in the improvement of the services and functions handled
  14. Responsible for the resources managed and operated by the unit with direct impact in the delivery of the companys products and services that directly affect end users and customers
  15. Assures that functions and services rendered are accurate and precise to avoid any system outages that affects the companys image and reputation and its overall efficiency
  16. Design and set guidelines for the proper implementation of the system and application performance data collection and submission.
  17. Research on new hardware, software, and productivity tools and technology trends and recommend adoption to enhance system availability and performance in coordination with the Research & Development unit
  18. Evaluate personnel performance and provide coaching to enhance productivity. Ensure manpower availability for regular tasks and for problem resolution
  19. Continuously devise and promote cost cutting measures to ensure unit operates within operating budgets set.
  20. Ensure that requests for application systems and tools that will help in automation are properly evaluated and recommendations are given in a timely manner. Assist in the quality assurance, software evaluation and design reviews.
  21. Design project charters and all required PMO documentation to support the launching of high impact projects focusing on improving current application systems infrastructure
  22. Coordinate with other TS and Infrastructure and Support Unit Supervisors to ensure that projects that will require cross over activities between units will all be performed within the timelines set and with minimal impact to each others project directives
  23. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements Must be a graduate of an I.T/ Computer Science or related Engineering or Technology Courses
  • Experiential Requirements Must have at least 5 years of exposure in IT research and Application Support related work. With at least 3 years supervisory experience leading a technical team
  • Required Interpersonal Skills: Must be a good team player with a customer oriented attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent supervisory skills.
  • Must have excellent project management skill and has the capability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Must have extensive systems analysis and coding experience in .NET, Java application environment
