Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain and distribution process of food products from procurement, warehousing, inventory control, and transportation, to timely delivery across all store locations or clients. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and safe logistics operations that comply with food safety regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage logistics operations including inbound and outbound transportation, warehouse management, and distribution.
  • Coordinate closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Monitor and optimize transport routes to reduce delivery time and costs while maintaining product quality and freshness.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, Cold Chain Management).
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and shelf- life monitoring.
  • Manage 3PL logistics partners, trucking services, and warehouse contractors (if outsourced).
  • Develop logistics policies, SOPs, and contingency plans for perishable goods handling.
  • Analyze logistics performance metrics (cost per delivery, on-time delivery, spoilage rate, etc.) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Handle logistics-related issues including delays, damages, returns, and losses.
  • Ensure all documentation for shipment, customs (if applicable), and delivery are accurate and compliant.
  • Lead, train, and supervise warehouse personnel, drivers, and logistics staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and cold chain logistics.
  • Experience in route planning and transportation management systems (TMS/WMS).
  • Proficient in MS Office, inventory systems, and ERP software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
