Job Summary:
Power BI's core strength lies in high-quality data. We are seeking Lead Consultants with expertise in Power BI, especially focused on data management. Candidates should possess advanced knowledge of Power BI and its data components, including PowerQuery/M, DAX, and dimensional modeling, along with experience in basic report design. Familiarity with SQL Server (data warehouse design, SSIS, SSRS) and DirectQuery is advantageous. Additionally, you should understand Power BI licensing models and be capable of collaborating with clients to determine the most suitable licensing options for their needs. Experience with Databricks for developing, deploying, and optimizing data pipelines and workflows is essential. Strong communication skills are required to interact regularly with clients, their teams, and specialists such as database developers and software engineers. Your analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of both technical and business aspects of business intelligence, combined with staying current on Power BI updates, will make you an ideal candidate. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct discovery sessions with clients to identify reporting needs
  • Collaborate with clients on Power BI licensing options, understanding the benefits and limitations of each platform
  • Develop efficient star schema data models for Power BI, including calculated columns and measures
  • Build Power BI solutions by importing data from various sources, creating reports and dashboards, and developing data elements with DAX and source queries
  • Guide clients on deploying Power BI solutions via the Power BI service, including setting up gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, and data refreshes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • Over 5 years of experience working with data and BI solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem (SSRS, Power BI, PowerPivot, PerformancePoint) or other BI tools like Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP
  • Proficient in T-SQL, data modeling, and report creation using Power BI or similar Microsoft tools
  • Skilled in designing comprehensive Power BI reports with features like drilldowns, linked content, and nested parameters
  • Advanced DAX techniques for dynamic measure creation
  • Knowledge of data transformation and mashups using Power Query/M language
  • Experience with Databricks for developing and optimizing data pipelines and workflows
  • Ability to articulate visual design choices and interactions
  • Capable of designing user interfaces that are intuitive and require minimal training for end users
  • Skilled in gathering requirements and conducting focus groups to support business growth

  • Deploying Power BI solutions to on-premises Power BI Report Server
  • Using Power BI Embedded for solution deployment
  • Implementing cloud-based Power BI solutions with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database
