Fiber Maintenance Engineer 

Summary

This is an intermediate level, field service role that provides technical guidance and support to fiber maintenance teams. You'll also be responsible for resolving complex technical problems and ensuring efficient network operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review site acceptance documents and advise management of any issues before finalization.
  • Provide guidance on planned maintenance schedules and hardware adjustments.
  • Assist supervisors with infrastructure maintenance industry standards.
  • Utilize your experience and technical knowledge to achieve positive outcomes in fiber optic transport, cabling, wireless, and mechanical power construction.
  • Perform various tasks including data entry, creating mathematical models, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, servicing equipment, and maintaining records.
  • Participate in site rearrangements to meet technical department standards.
  • Assist the team leader in selecting sites for rearrangement and filling out acceptance forms.
  • Report issues to the deployment department and follow up on material requests.
  • Prepare work sheets and troubleshoot network failures.
  • Be available on-call for urgent cases.
  • Perform fiber optic cable splicing as required.
  • Maintain inventories of test equipment and transmitters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer, electrical, mechanical, or telecom engineering (or related field)
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Customer service focus, problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and good organization

  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)
