About the job Wireless Technician B
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain antennas, cables, towers, and other equipment on cell sites.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, often requiring assistance from experienced colleagues.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to keep equipment functioning optimally.
- Ensure safety by following established practices and using appropriate gear.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with team leaders and technicians.
- Climb towers and work in potentially hazardous environments (rooftops, ladders, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Document your work accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in a related field with Technical Certification.
- 3 years' experience in telecommunications or network operations.
- Strong knowledge of RF, AC, and DC principles.
- Proficiency in using safety equipment and climbing gear.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies.
- Valid driver's license and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience installing and maintaining cameras, lightning rods, and cable wiring.
- Knowledge of fixed and wireless network principles.
- Experience working on cell site construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to conduct site surveys and install transmitting/receiving devices.
- Knowledge of optical cable installation and setup.
- Ability to handle fiber department tasks (aerial, underground).
