Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Logistics Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing our international shipping operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely sea freight movement of our goods, ensuring they reach their destinations safely and securely.

Responsibilities:

  • Process sea freight requests, liaising with customers to understand shipment details and specific requirements.
  • Research and select the most cost-effective and reliable shipping routes and carriers based on factors like cargo type, weight, volume, and delivery timeframes.
  • Manage and prepare all necessary shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and letter of credit (L/C) stipulations.
  • Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agencies, and port authorities to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
  • Arrange for container booking, cargo loading, and unloading at ports.
  • Track shipments in real-time using online tracking tools, keeping stakeholders informed of any delays or updates.
  • Manage and maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
  • Analyze freight costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization within the sea freight process.
  • Stay up-to-date on international maritime regulations, trade agreements, and industry best practices.
  • Resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping process, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of problems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in sea freight logistics or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms (International Commercial Terms).
  • Proficient in sea freight documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Excellent knowledge of container types, capacities, and loading limitations.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and port authorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
