We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the financial records, supporting the mission to achieve positive social impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger.
  • Assist with month-end closings and annual audits.
  • Assist with grant accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports for management and donors.
  • Stay up-to-date on accounting principles and regulations relevant to NGOs.
  • Support with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in finance and other departments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an accountant, preferably in a non-governmental organization or non-profit environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Nonprofit) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
