Role Objective:
To lead the Treasury & Investment activities of Raiya by approving and implementing the processes for managing the investments, cash flows, asset liability profile and foreign exchange exposures, in line with internal controls and applicable regulations
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Strategic
- Contribute towards formulation of strategy, annual business plans, budgets, policies and procedures of ones department, to support divisional and organizational business strategy
- Implement approved treasury and investment policies by introducing / continuously developing operating procedures to organize, co-ordinate and manage the financial accounting process for the business
- Recommend appropriate guidelines, parameters, risk exposures and limits for trading in securities and money markets and provide recommendations on investment in surplus funds that will generate income within the risk management parameters set by management and in adherence with regulatory guidelines
Operational
- Manage the foreign currency exchange risks by monitoring foreign currency movements, conducting forward booking and purchasing currency derivative products
- Gainfully employ surplus cash, foreign exchange or money market products by evaluating patterns for direction of exchange and interest rates
- Maintain relationships with major financial institution to manage the cost of funds by sourcing low cost borrowings for business operations
- Collaborate with the Accounts Department on monthly closing of entries and provisioning for Bank Interest
- Monitor working capital funds on day to day basis and obtain favorable rating for the raising Debt
- Implement cash management at all locations, project Cash Flow of the Company and monitor the same on a regular basis
- Direct research activities to provide analysis of -
- the direction of markets, and the relative attractions of investments in different sectors
- the trends in real estate markets and the relative attractions of investments in different geographies/ projects
- the impact of economic influences on each industry and potential market-moving events
- the macroeconomic factors that influence the economies of countries in Middle East and throughout the world
- Provide analysis of overall (cross industry/ geography) investment opportunities and provide required information to the Head Finance & Accounts (CFO) and Financial Controller
- Manage investment of all Group companies and of shareholders of group companies (on special request) and as directed by Head Finance & Accounts (CFO)
- Invest in different asset classes, e.g., Real Estate, Equities and through different instruments, e.g., portfolio, direct investments in order to manage risk and maximize rewards over a long timeframe. Ensure compliance to internal control process set for investments
- Verify investment statements sent from portfolio managers and related financial institutions on a periodic basis
- Conduct analyses on investments made, prepare investment reports and make presentations to the NSCs management
- Direct correspondence with overseas bank, investment companies and other financial institutions to coordinate all investment opportunities
- Provide information to Accounts section for incorporation of investments related entries in the book of accounts.
- Perform other duties as requested by Management.

- Guide the staff in executing their respective responsibilities towards the achievement of the Departments goals and objectives as well as those of Raiya
- Establish the performance plans for direct subordinates ; guide them in establishing performance plans for their respective subordinates
- Participate in the identification of training and development initiatives for all employees within the Department
- Drive the engagement and satisfaction of all employees within the Department through holding periodic meetings to discuss the achievements and address any employee issues and/or concerns.

Education & Qualifications:
Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance with a focus on Investment or Treasury
- CTP / ACA/ACCA/CIMA /CPA (or equivalent is preferred)
- A minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience within the financial field ;
- Including 1-2 years experience of managing a small team
