Job Summary:
The Fiber Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the fiber optic network by conducting regular preventive maintenance, providing technical support to field teams, troubleshooting faults, and optimizing network performance to maintain high service availability and quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Review site acceptance documents to ensure safety and technical standards are met before final approval and handover.

Provide recommendations regarding preventive maintenance schedules and necessary hardware adjustments.

Support field maintenance supervisors by ensuring compliance with infrastructure maintenance standards.

Apply experience and technical knowledge in optical transmission, cable infrastructure, and wireless mechanical structures to improve maintenance outcomes.

Complete operational forms (OP/RQ) as required by the Operations Department.

Develop mathematical models for RF communication distribution systems.

Provide technical support for cable placement, termination, and splicing of both optical fiber and copper cables.

Demonstrate the ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently.

Design and implement preventive maintenance plans based on supervisor guidance.

Use precision testing equipment to perform diagnostic and maintenance tasks.

Carry out inspection, testing, and repairs on various equipment such as electrical systems, air compressors, towers, etc.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities performed.

Reorganize operational sites to meet technical department standards.

Assist the team leader in selecting sites for restructuring based on strategic importance.

Fill out acceptance forms and notify the deployment team of required corrections and final site acceptance.

Follow up on material requests and coordinate returns from governorates to the main warehouse.

Prepare worksheets and daily reports related to technicians' work.

Troubleshoot network failures and service outages.

Remain on-call 24/7 for emergency technical support when needed.

Perform mechanical and/or fusion splicing of fiber optic cables.

Maintain inventories of testing tools, transmitters, and related equipment.
Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in ISP, telecom maintenance, or fiber optic networks.

Hands-on experience with fiber optic testing and splicing tools.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
-
Ability to work under pressure and in field environments.
-
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations.
