Job Summary:
Global Tek seeks a highly motivated and qualified Field Technical Support Engineer to provide technical guidance and support to our field teams, ensuring efficient and compliant network operations. You will be responsible for:
- Technical Guidance and Support:
- Assist field teams with complex technical problems, resolving them independently or collaborating with senior technicians.
- Assist in selecting materials and equipment for mechanical analysis and repair.
- Provide advice on planned maintenance schedules and hardware component adjustments.
- Share technical expertise in optical transport, cable infrastructure, and wireless construction to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Site Acceptance and Maintenance:
- Review site acceptance documents and advise on any issues before finalization, ensuring safe and efficient network deployment.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules and perform maintenance work to keep equipment in peak condition.
- Conduct inspections, repairs, and servicing on various equipment, including electrical systems, air compressors, and towers.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Project Management and Coordination:
- Coordinate with various teams and vendors to maintain quality standards.
- Oversee the delivery of assets, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Follow up on material requests and return forms.
- Prepare work sheets and reports related to technician activities.
- Collaborate with the monitoring section to enhance team performance and problem-solving efficiency.
- Participate in site surveys and installations for governmental cores.
- Technical Expertise:
- Interpret and understand detailed engineering drawings and system/network design maps.
- Perform mechanical and/or fusion splicing of fiber optic cables as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, daily logs, and equipment inventories.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting network failures and outages.
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years' experience in Engineering, ISP, or Telecom Maintenance.
