Job Overview:

The Network Operations Sr. Technician role is a multifaced and responsible for the networks, network security, Video/Voice, and Internet environments.

The Network Operations Sr. Technician must be able to develop LAN/WAN designs, setup router/switch configurations, design/configure routing protocols, and set up IP subnet schemes.

The Network Operations Sr. Technician must be able to exhibit strong communication, Time and project management skills and collaborate well with other team members & departments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Configure, install, and maintain network equipment and infrastructure including switches, routers, WAPs, Fiber Optic, IDS/IPS, CAT 5 connections, and content filtering.

Demonstrate knowledge and hands on experience with LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocol, routing/switching configurations, Firewall and VPN technologies.

Experience with Cisco routing/switching platforms and IOS.

Experience with converged networks to include VoIP, VTC, and QoS methods.

Troubleshooting complex network issues such as performance analysis, protocol problems, hardware failures, VPN issues, Firewall, WAN/LAN and other connectivity issues.

Enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes, repairs, and cabling layouts.

Training junior IT staff and providing on-site field technicians with remote technical support.

Maintaining internet domains and enhancing intranet performance.

Qualifications & Certifications:

Cisco ENCOR (Required)

CCNA or CCNP (Preferably)

ITIL v3/v4 (Desirable)

Intermediate level computer certification (Desirable)

Skills, Abilities And Years of Experience:

5-8 years of progressively responsible Network Operations/Engineering hands-on experience with Cisco Platforms.

A minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience supporting/implementing VTC/Telecommunication solutions.

Documentation of technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.

Strong understanding of secure network architectures and encryption technologies preferred.

Knowledge and experience with Juniper is a plus.

Respond to Tier 1 & 2 incidents by evaluating, diagnosis, and troubleshooting for proper solutions. Ensure tickets/incidents and other issues are brought to resolution as quickly as possible.

Build meaningful and valued relationships with clients.

Understand hardware and software capacities in order to modify or enhance high quality network system infrastructure.

Performed diagnostic tests on communications between computers, routers, modems, servers, etc.

Ability to work in an international team environment and matrix organization.

Ability to understand key concepts and communicate clearly and concisely, including technical details and processes.

Vulnerability and penetration testing/auditing and remediation.

Experience mitigating malware, viruses, advanced persistent threats, phishing, suspicious network traffic, etc.

Ability to perform advanced network troubleshooting using various tools both hardware and software.
