Field Maintenance Engineer - Job Summary

Role Overview:
The Field Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to field teams, ensuring the proper execution of maintenance activities related to radio and fiber networks. This entry-level position involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, coordinating across teams, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The role also includes managing site acceptance, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting network failures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in selecting materials and equipment for repairs.
  • Provide technical guidance on applied mechanics, optical transmission, and mechanical testing.
  • Review site acceptance documents and advise on safety and efficiency.
  • Support field supervisors with maintenance industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot network failures and outages, ensuring 24/7 availability.
  • Perform mechanical and/or fusion splicing of fiber optic cables.
  • Manage power maintenance tasks, including generator checks, site refueling, and equipment installation.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • BSc. in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Telecom Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in Engineering, ISP, or Telecom Maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of ISP operations, network equipment, and CAD tools.
  • Proficient in English and Arabic, with good Microsoft Office skills.

  • Implementation of field maintenance strategic plans.
  • Achievement of operational SLAs and KPIs.
  • 100% readiness of fiber materials for site deployment.
  • Network uptime and availability.
  • Compliance with quality metrics and organizational policies.
