JOB DETAILS

We're hiring a pure backend WordPress developer based in Lahore for advanced, custom work. This is not a theme-designer role - you'll be building custom plugins, blocks, REST APIs, integrations, and performance/security improvements. You'll work closely with product managers and frontend engineers.

Type: Full-time, On-site (Lahore)
Experience: Minimum 3 to 4 years working with WordPress

Responsibilities:

• Design and build custom WordPress plugins and Gutenberg blocks following W coding standards.
  
• Develop and maintain WooCommerce customizations, hooks, payment and shipping integrations.
  
• Implement, extend, and support LearnDash custom features & integrations (SCORM, certificates, groups, course logic).
  
• Build and document REST API endpoints; integrate third-party APIs and webhooks.
  
• Improve site performance, optimize MySQL queries, and recommend caching strategies.
  
• Ensure code quality through unit/integration testing, code reviews, and automated deployments (CI/CD).
  
• Troubleshoot production issues, manage staging/live workflows, and perform safe migrations.
  
• Maintain security best practices (nonce usage, capability checks, input sanitisation).

• Must-Have Technical Skills
  
• Strong PHP (OOP) fundamentals and 3 to 4 years working on WordPress backend.
  
• Deep experience with WooCommerce: actions/filters, custom product types, orders API.
  
• Experience building custom WordPress plugins and
  
• Gutenberg blocks.
  
• Comfortable with WordPress REST API, WP-CLI, and database schema design (MySQL).
  
• Familiar with Composer, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
  
• Reasonable understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and
  
• Gutenberg/ React architecture.
  
• Familiarity with authentication flows, webhooks, and third-party API integrations.
  
• Strong understanding of sanitisation, escaping, and role/capability handling.
  

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

• Experience with LearnDash and custom course logic.
  
• React / JSX experience for Gutenberg blocks or headless
  
• WordPress.
  
• Node.is / npm / Webpack / Vite familiarity for modern development workflows.
  
• GraphQL / REST front-end integration experience.
  
• Knowledge of PHPUnit or automated testing frameworks.

Requirements:
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a WordPress developer.
- Strong proficiency in PHP programming and WordPress architecture.
- Experience with MySQL and database management.
- Hands-on experience with plugin development and theme customization.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
- Solid understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
- Experience with website performance monitoring and security.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment.
- Ability to manage and work collaboratively on multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of XHTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript a plus.
