About the Role

We are working with Canadian Series A–B startups and are looking for a hands-on finance professional who can own the entire financial reporting lifecycle end-to-end.

This is not a narrow bookkeeping role. Youll be responsible for:

  • Setting up and maintaining clean bookkeeping systems
  • Producing high-quality financial reports
  • Generating insights for founders and investors
  • Building scalable, tech-enabled finance processes across multiple startups

Youll work directly with the founder, have meaningful ownership, and play a core role in shaping how finance and reporting are done across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Bookkeeping

  • Set up and manage bookkeeping for multiple startups (QuickBooks and/or Xero)
  • Design and maintain charts of accounts, month-end close processes, and controls
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and audit-readiness

Financial Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Build founder- and investor-ready reporting packs
  • Translate numbers into clear insights (runway, burn, trends, risks)
  • Support investor updates and performance reporting

Systems, Automation & Analytics

  • Build efficient reporting workflows using modern tools
  • Implement automations to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
  • Help design scalable systems that can support multiple companies
  • Continuously improve reporting speed, quality, and clarity

Stakeholder Communication

  • Work closely with founders, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Present and explain financial data clearly to non-finance audiences
  • Support meetings with Canadian / US-based clients when needed

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or financial reporting
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent strong accounting qualification
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and/or Xero
  • Prior experience working with international clients (Canada / US preferred)
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end reporting lifecycle
  • Comfortable building systems, processes, and documentation from scratch
  • Tech-savvy mindset; experience with automations is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, ownership-driven, and detail-oriented

Working Hours & Setup

  • In-person (Lahore, DHA Phase 1)
  • Core working hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM PKT
  • Must be comfortable attending occasional meetings in Canadian / US Eastern hours

Why This Role?

  • Direct exposure to venture-backed startups
  • Work 1-on-1 with the founder
  • High ownership and autonomy
  • Opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role as the business scales
  • Challenging work with real upside for strong performers
