Director of Nursing – Surgical Services

Position Overview

Tap Healthcare Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing – Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, New Jersey. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of surgical services, including clinical quality, operational efficiency, staff engagement, and physician collaboration.

The Director will play a critical role in driving performance across key operational metrics such as block utilization, case throughput, and turnover times, while fostering a high-performing and patient-centered culture. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from approximately $157,000 to $220,000 annually based on experience, with additional compensation components such as differentials or call pay where applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, or active enrollment in a BSN program with completion required within 24 months.
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire or prior to providing patient care (American Heart Association).
• Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably within surgical services or perioperative settings.
• Strong clinical and operational knowledge of perioperative services (Operating Room required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Acute care hospital experience.
• 5–7 years of leadership experience in surgical services preferred, though high-potential candidates with strong OR experience will be considered.
