Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to support the Medical-Surgical department at a leading healthcare facility in Anchorage, AK. This advanced practice role is responsible for improving clinical outcomes, mentoring nursing staff, and promoting evidence-based practices across medical-surgical units. The CNS functions as a key leader, educator, and resource for both clinical and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert consultation and support to nursing staff in the medical-surgical setting
Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, care delivery, and clinical standards
Collaborate with leadership on system-wide projects and protocols
Mentor and train staff on best practices and current clinical guidelines
Serve as a subject matter expert on complex patient care issues and new innovations in med-surg nursing
Required Qualifications:
Masters Degree from a CNS program accredited by the CCNE or NLNAC
Alaska RN license upon hire
BLS certification (American Heart Association) upon hire
Current specialty certification (e.g., CEN, CCRN) upon hire
3 years of RN experience in the specialty area
2 years of clinical leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
CNS certification in area of specialty upon hire
