Nursing Director of Surgical Services

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Nursing Director of Surgical Services to provide clinical and operational leadership within a dynamic hospital-based surgical department in Tucson, AZ. This role is responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care, staff management, and regulatory compliance across the perioperative environment. The director will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to support surgical excellence and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of surgical services including OR, PACU, and related units
Ensure departmental compliance with state, federal, and hospital regulations
Supervise and develop nursing staff, including hiring, performance evaluation, and professional development
Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership to ensure efficient, high-quality care delivery
Manage budgets, resource allocation, and quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school, with a Bachelors degree in a healthcare-related field or BSN
Current licensure and certification to practice nursing in Arizona, including CPR
Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment (as a manager or full-time charge nurse)

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree (MSN or related healthcare field)
