Registered Nurse, Operating Room Circulator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse, Operating Room Circulator to join a surgical services team in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. This opportunity is specifically designed for an RN with substantial hands-on Operating Room circulating experience who is comfortable supporting a diverse range of surgical procedures.

The OR Circulator will coordinate patient care throughout the operative process, collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and nursing staff, and help maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment. This position requires established circulating experience and is not intended for nurses whose surgical background is limited to Pre-Op, Post-Op, Endoscopy/GI, or PACU.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of Surgery and Operating Room Circulating RN experience
• Current North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact RN License with North Carolina endorsement
• Must be comfortable circulating in:
  • Orthopedic procedures
  • General Surgery
  • da Vinci robotic procedures
  • Select OB/GYN procedures
• Strong understanding of operating room workflows, sterile practices, patient safety, and perioperative nursing responsibilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary surgical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Broad circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties
• Previous experience with robotic-assisted surgery
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond effectively to changing intraoperative needs
• Experience working in a fast-paced surgical or acute-care environment
• Strong communication, organization, and patient-advocacy skills

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced OR Circulating RN with at least two years of dedicated Surgery and Operating Room experience. They should be confident circulating independently across orthopedic and general surgery cases while also being comfortable supporting da Vinci robotic and select OB/GYN procedures.

Candidates whose experience is primarily in Pre-Op, Post-Op, Endoscopy/GI, or PACU will not meet the experience requirement for this position. The strongest candidate will already have a well-rounded surgical background and be prepared to contribute effectively within the operating room from the start.

Compensation

$70,000 – $90,000 annually

Compensation within the listed range will be determined based on the candidate's Operating Room experience, breadth of surgical expertise, specialized procedural experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position.
