Duties & Responsibilities
- Articulate and champion a clear, long-term product vision, ensuring alignment across the team and stakeholders.
- Serve as the sole owner of the Product Backlog, prioritizing items based on value, risk, and dependencies to maximize efficiency and outcomes.
- Make tactical decisions on feature development to ensure every delivery increment provides maximum value to customers and the business.
- Act as the primary liaison for all stakeholders, gathering feedback, managing expectations, and communicating progress and trade-offs clearly.
- Collaborate daily with the development team to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies.
- Deep understanding of the target market, user personas, and the industry domain to inform product decisions.
- Proven ability to use data, metrics, and user feedback to drive backlog prioritization and validate the product direction.
- Strong sense of value prioritization and the ability to articulate the business case and ROI for product features.
- Sufficient understanding of the technology stack and development processes to collaborate credibly with engineers.
- Excellent at conveying vision and requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences, with strong active listening and negotiation skills.
- Mastery of Agile/Scrum practices, including writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and active participation in all sprint events.
Qualifications, skills, and abilities
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in an Agile/Scrum environment, with a verifiable track record of guiding products from initial concept through to successful launch and subsequent iteration.
- High proficiency with Agile tools like Jira or Azure DevOps for sophisticated backlog management.
- A strong understanding of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and a deep commitment to Agile principles and practices.
- Demonstrated mastery in writing excellent user stories and well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and align detailed product work with overarching strategic company goals.
- An analytical, data-driven mindset; you are comfortable using data and metrics to inform priorities, validate ideas, and solve complex problems.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. You can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and articulate business needs to developers with equal ease.
- Proven experience in managing diverse stakeholders, navigating conflicting priorities, and building consensus through effective influence and negotiation.
- Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification.
