About the job Senior Quality Control Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze and review business and system requirements to ensure they are clear and testable.
- Prepare test strategies and test plans
- Design and write clear and structured test cases and test scenarios
- Execute manual testing (Functional, Regression, Integration, and System Testing)
- Perform API testing and validate responses
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
- Log, track, and follow up on defects with the development team until closure.
- Perform re-testing and regression testing after fixes
- Collaborate closely with development and business teams to ensure product quality.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives)
- Prepare and share regular reports on testing progress and product quality
- Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when needed.
- Mentor and guide junior testers and review their work.
Qualifications, skills & Abilities
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing (QA)
- Strong experience in API testing (e.g., Postman or similar tools)
- Hands-on experience in test automation (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases and hidden defects
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Proficiency in API testing and validation
- Hands-on experience in test automation tools and frameworks
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA)
