About the job Project Manager – Distribution & Logistics
Company Description
Our client is a Singapore-incorporated, fast-growing venture-building company operating across food & beverage, retail, logistics, lifestyle, and technology sectors in Bangladesh. With multiple consumer brands, centralized operations, and a scalable business model, the company is focused on building an integrated, tech-enabled ecosystem shaping the future of the Bangladeshi consumer market.
About the role
We are hiring a highly driven and hands-on Project Manager for our client to lead the Distribution & Logistics function. This role will oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including last-mile delivery, hub replenishment, rider and dispatch management, and logistics infrastructure expansion. Working closely with the Head of Supply Chain and COO, the selected candidate will help optimize delivery networks, manage operational scalability, and ensure seamless logistics readiness for new brand and product launches.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
- Build, structure, and lead a world-class distribution and logistics team — covering hub coordinators, dispatch supervisors, fleet managers, and delivery personnel.
- Establish clear reporting lines, shift structures, role definitions, and performance KPIs across the entire logistics function.
- Create a culture of on-time delivery, customer obsession, and operational discipline from the first hub to the last doorstep.
- Mentor and develop logistics supervisors into future operational leaders within the organisation.
- Recruit high-calibre logistics talent capable of building and running a multi-hub, multi-channel distribution network.
Global Standards & Bangladesh Logistics Realities:
- Design and implement distribution and logistics systems benchmarked against global QSR and FMCG last-mile standards — covering speed, accuracy, cost per delivery, and cold chain integrity.
- Build operational models that are globally standard but locally executable — accounting for Dhaka's traffic unpredictability, road infrastructure limitations, and varying rider literacy levels.
- Engineer contingency systems for Bangladesh-specific disruptions: hartals, flooding, fuel shortages, and peak congestion corridors.
- Introduce GPS-based route optimisation, real-time delivery tracking, and digital proof of delivery — building toward a fully data-driven logistics operation.
- Benchmark delivery SLA performance against regional and global F&B logistics leaders and build a structured roadmap to close the gap.
Product Launch & Market Delivery Readiness:
- Own the logistics and distribution readiness workstream for every new product launch, brand rollout, or outlet opening.
- Design and operationalise the end-to-end delivery model for each new brand — covering dispatch protocols, delivery zones, time windows, and aggregator listings.
- Coordinate with Sales and Marketing to align delivery capacity and zone coverage with launch campaign targets.
- Ensure every product reaches the market with a fully operational, tested, and documented logistics model from day one.
- Lead post-launch logistics reviews and iterate on delivery models based on performance data and customer feedback.
Distribution Network Design & Expansion:
- Own the end-to-end design and optimisation of the distribution network — covering factory-to-hub transfers, hub-to-outlet replenishment, and customer-facing last-mile delivery.
- Plan, map, and operationalise delivery zones and routes across Dhaka for maximum speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and set up new hub or dark kitchen locations to support network expansion as the brand portfolio grows.
- Manage hub-level inventory replenishment cycles in close coordination with the Supply Chain and Production teams.
Fleet & Rider Operations:
- Oversee the full delivery operations team — managing daily performance, route adherence, fuel accountability, cash handling, and customer experience standards.
- Develop and enforce SOPs for pick-up, dispatch, delivery confirmation, returns, and incident reporting.
Aggregator & Platform Management:
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure the entire delivery fleet is roadworthy, clean, and brand-compliant at all times.
- Build and maintain a live performance dashboard covering on-time delivery rate, rider productivity, and cost per delivery — reporting weekly to the COO.
- Manage integrations and relationships with third-party delivery platforms - Pathao Food, Shohoz, Foodpanda, and new aggregator partnerships.
- Ensure menu accuracy, pricing alignment, and order flow consistency across all platforms at all times.
- Monitor aggregator SLA performance, commission structures, and dispute resolution — escalating and negotiating improvements where necessary.
- Coordinate with the Technology PM to ensure delivery data flows seamlessly into the ERP and operational reporting systems.
Logistics Projects & Process Improvement:
- Plan and manage all logistics infrastructure projects — new hub setups, cold chain installations, vehicle acquisitions, and fleet technology deployments.
- Identify inefficiencies across the distribution workflow and lead structured improvement projects with quantifiable outcomes.
- Conduct root cause analysis on delivery failures, delays, and customer complaints — implementing corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and manage the distribution and logistics project budget; track actuals vs. plan and report variances with corrective recommendations to the COO.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in logistics operations, last-mile delivery management, or multi-hub distribution.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional logistics certification (CILT, APICS, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and develop high-performance delivery teams.
- Experience managing third-party delivery aggregator relationships and platform integrations.
- Deep operational knowledge of last-mile delivery, route optimisation, hub network management, and cold chain logistics.
- Experience with GPS tracking tools, logistics management software, and ERP-based inventory systems.
- Data-driven mindset — comfortable building and interpreting delivery performance dashboards.
- Strong SOP development, team leadership, and ground-level operations management skills.
- Fluent in both Bangla and English — written and verbal.
- Ability to work across multiple locations simultaneously and respond to operational disruptions in real time.
- Prior experience in F&B delivery, FMCG distribution, or e-commerce logistics is strongly preferred.
