About the job Product Engineer
Company Description
Our client provides a comprehensive home setup service. They understand that moving home is not only exciting but also stressful and emotional. Their shared goal is to make the moving process easier for everyone involved: buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords. To achieve this, they leverage the latest technology to offer a simple and efficient service. However, it's the friendly and dedicated team behind the advanced technology and on the other end of the phone that truly sets them apart.
About the Role
Our client is hiring a Product Engineer to take real customer problems and ship the solution, end to end. From the conversation with their AI to the state machine underneath it. Fast enough to learn every week. Sound enough to run on its own. 4M+ home movers a year in the UK, 28M UK households to run, $1T+ global market for home services. They are looking for an engineer who thinks like a founder. Someone who has shipped features that mattered, can tell you exactly what changed because of them, and wants a problem space big enough to spend years on.
Moving is the second most stressful thing most people do, and the admin never stops. The client's AI is the personal AI that takes it off your plate. It sets the household up, energy, broadband, water, council tax, insurance and so much more, then keeps it running: tracks the renewals, finds the next deal, and grows with the customer from first rental to first mortgage, with credit and higher-value financial products next. People get back their time, save money and their peace of mind. Product engineers are how the AI gets better. Every week we learn something about what movers actually need: where they hesitate, what they don't trust, which step they abandon at 11pm. Turning that into shipped product is your job. Sometimes that's a new conversational flow. Sometimes it's a supplier integration, a pricing rule, a Next.js screen, a change to how an order moves through its lifecycle. Usually, it's all of them at once. Nobody has rebuilt this industry for AI. The comparison sites and incumbents still run on forms and call queues. The product is where customers feel that change first.
Key Responsibilities
- The customer problem: work from customer behaviour, operational feedback, transcripts and funnel data to understand what needs to change.
- The specification: turn an ambiguous problem into a clear, testable product approach rather than waiting for a fully written ticket.
- The whole feature: frontend, backend, data model, integrations, the AI prompts/tools and the evaluation
needed to prove the behaviour works. - Production delivery: ship small changes safely, use feature flags where appropriate, observe results and iterate quickly.
- Product impact: know what changed after launch and communicate the outcome in clear business terms.
- The system around the feature: consider entity models, state machines, queues and agent permissions rather than treating UI and backend as separate concerns.
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, product stakeholders and founders to remove blockers and improve the customer experience.
- First 90 Days
- Understand the AI's key customer journeys, our client's product funnel and the core systems supporting home-service orders.
- Take ownership of a real customer problem and ship a working improvement end to end.
- Demonstrate the ability to work across frontend, backend and AI-related components rather than staying within one layer.
- Define how the feature should be measured and use post-launch evidence to determine whether it worked.
- Build a strong working rhythm with our client's UK team and demonstrate clear ownership, communication and follow-through.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, with a strong focus on Product Engineering.
- Professional experience with Python/FastAPI, NextJS, TypeScript, and AWS; experience with Laravel is a plus.
- Having worked as a full-stack or product engineer and being able to point to features you shipped that produced a measurable outcome.
- Having a founder-style mentality and being comfortable when the brief is short, the problem is ambiguous and the deadline is close.
- Thinking in systems as well as screens and understanding how a product change affects data, queues, state and downstream services.
- Being strong in TypeScript, comfortable in Python and able to become productive quickly in whatever part of the stack the problem requires.
- Using Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent AI tools as part of your normal development workflow and having built or experimented with AI-powered products.
- Staying with a feature after launch, looking at what happened and iterating rather than treating
deployment as the finish line. - Communicating naturally with stakeholders, asking good questions, pushing back constructively and
updating without being chased. - Based in Bangladesh and available to work UK-aligned hours.
- Having been a founder, early-stage employee or highly autonomous product-minded engineer.
- Having shipped an AI agent, conversational product or LLM-powered feature to real users and being able to discuss its evaluation.
- Having strong side projects, public demos or open-source work.
- Experience in UK property, utilities, fintech or regulated consumer services.
- Ability to clearly connect technical decisions to customer behaviour and business outcomes.
- Comfortable directing coding agents, critically reviewing their output, using them to accelerate delivery, and developing a clear point of view on where AI-assisted engineering works well and where human judgement is essential.
- Advanced English fluency is needed.
