About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Stamping Press Mechanic with a strong background in progressive stamping operations to join our manufacturing team. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical stamping presses, feed lines, and automation systems to ensure efficient and safe production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic press systems, along with a deep understanding of tooling alignment, die setup, and press optimization for high-volume production.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on stamping presses, coil feed systems, and related automation equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues affecting press and tooling performance.
- Set up and adjust progressive dies, transfer systems, and feeders to ensure optimal stamping operations.
- Inspect and replace worn press components such as bearings, bushings, clutch/brake units, and drive mechanisms.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot press performance and improve cycle efficiency.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and follow established safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Support press line upgrades, rebuilds, and process improvements to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a stamping press mechanic, press maintenance technician, or industrial maintenance mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of progressive stamping operations and high-speed press systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic controls and press automation.
- Experience with press brands such as Minster, AIDA, Komatsu, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, including sensors, relays, and control panels.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with attention to precision, alignment, and tooling performance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in high-volume automotive or metal stamping environments.
- Familiarity with coil handling, straighteners, and servo feed systems.
- Background in preventive maintenance program development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Certification or training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or mechanical systems.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently when required.
