About the Role
This Quality Manager position is a mid-level leadership role within a manufacturing and automotive production environment. The role is responsible for managing the entire quality management system, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949/TS 16949 standards, leading internal audits, coordinating corrective actions, and supervising quality personnel. This position plays a vital role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction in a high-performance manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the facilitys Quality Management System (QMS)
- Serve as the IATF 16949/TS 16949 Management Representative
- Act as the Customer Quality Representative for all client quality matters
- Lead and facilitate Management Reviews for continuous quality improvement
- Oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs
- Plan and coordinate internal audits and ensure timely resolution of findings
- Maintain all quality assurance documentation and compliance records
- Supervise Quality Leads, Inspectors, and Level One personnel
- Manage the quality hold area and resolve non-conformance issues
- Oversee supplier quality performance and support vendor improvement initiatives
- Ensure completion of in-process inspections and final product testing
- Coordinate and submit PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation
- Manage calibration activities and conduct Gauge R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility) studies
- Perform other quality management duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 3 years experience in quality management in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- In-depth knowledge of TS 16949/IATF 16949 standards
- Experience with FMEA, control charts, and Total Quality Management (TQM)
- Background in corrective action processes and conducting internal quality audits
- Skilled in process improvement initiatives and compliance assessments
- Proven leadership in managing quality teams within a production environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Science, or Quality Management
- 5 years of experience in a Quality Manager role within the automotive industry
- Experience with supplier quality management and external quality audits
- Proficiency in quality tools and statistical analysis
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement strategies
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and industry standards
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
