Lathe Machinist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lathe Machinist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in producing precision components for industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and energy. The ideal candidate will excel in CNC lathe setup, operation, and troubleshooting, with machine-specific expertise on Okuma lathes being essential. Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathes, specifically Okuma lathes, to produce high-quality precision components.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to plan and execute machining tasks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and adjust lathe settings to ensure optimal machine performance and part accuracy.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools to verify adherence to tight tolerances.
• Maintain workstations, tools, and equipment in alignment with company safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as a Lathe Machinist, with proven expertise in CNC lathe setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Specific, hands-on experience with Okuma CNC lathes is required.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and technical documentation.
• Skilled in using precision measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, including speeds, feeds, and tooling for lathe operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience programming CNC lathes, particularly with MasterCam or similar CAM software.
• Familiarity with live tooling and multi-axis lathe setups.
• Knowledge of machining a variety of materials, including metals, alloys, and composites.
• Understanding of AS9100D and ISO9001:2015 quality standards.
• Passion for supporting American manufacturing and working with domestically sourced materials.
