About the job Construction Superintendent
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, driven Structural Superintendent to supervise all aspects of concrete, windows, waterproofing, metal, and stair work, as well as miscellaneous metal tasks, ensuring project completion and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the on-site team of superintendents to ensure seamless operations
- Oversee and enforce quality control across all trades involved in the project
- Coordinate, schedule, and monitor work from the start of excavation through to envelope enclosure
- Review structural shop drawings to identify and resolve potential conflicts
- Attend and lead weekly coordination meetings with all trades involved in the project
- Implement and enforce on-site safety programs to ensure a safe working environment
- Interface with governing officials to inspect and approve completed work
- Collaborate with architects and subcontractors to process and resolve RFIs
- Maintain and review daily logs to track project progress and issues
- Manage dust control measures, including maintaining and updating dust logs and permits
- Create and complete punch lists to ensure all work aligns with contract documents and incorporates buyer changes according to the schedule
- Monitor installations to ensure they meet manufacturer requirements and update "As-Builts" for all structural systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree, preferably in a construction-related field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
- Experience in mid- to high-rise residential construction is preferred
- Proven experience in managing projects valued at $25M or more from start to finish
- Experience in fast-track construction projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Project, Word, and Excel
- Experience with Procore software
- General knowledge of building and mechanical codes
- Knowledge of concrete construction, including post-tension and cast-in-place building methods
- Self-directed and self-motivated with strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- A team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of providing clear direction and guidance to skilled trades workers
