Industrial Maintenance Technician
About the job Industrial Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot machinery issues, and ensure equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications.
- Read and interpret operation manuals, maintain a schedule for inspections, and fabricate parts for repairs and upgrades.
- Identify problems using precision measuring instruments, clean and repair equipment, and ensure a safe and organized work area.
- Upgrade or convert obsolete electrical components and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, with completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent education/experience in production maintenance.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing with strong skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and PLCs.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and product manuals.
- Experience in machine setup, installation, and troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
- Ability to perform calibrations, installation, and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and project management skills.
- Experience with inventory control and maintaining continuity among work teams.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, ability to work a variable schedule, and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures and moving machinery.
