About the Role

The Senior Mold Technician is responsible for operating and tending silicone molding machines, including compression and injection molding machines, to form or cast materials into specified shapes. This position requires attention to detail, machine operation knowledge, and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Start machines, inject silicone material into molds, and eject molded products.
  • Observe meters and gauges to verify specified temperatures, pressures, and cycle times.
  • Adjust machine valves and dials to regulate pressure and temperature.
  • Monitor continuous machine operations to ensure proper width and alignment of plastic sheeting.
  • Weigh prescribed amounts of material to ensure specifications are met.
  • Inspect gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure machines are functioning properly.
  • Remove molded products, clean molds, and reload them.
  • Align mold frames and facilitate loading of molds with materials.
  • Examine molded products for defects such as dents, bubbles, thin areas, and cracks.
  • Fill molds or cavities with solid or liquid materials before activation.
  • Report mold defects to the supervisor.
  • Discard defective parts for recycling.
  • Stack molded parts for further processing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in mold operating.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills for company applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, including safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.
