Position Summary

The CNC Supervisor oversees daily operations of a designated department, shift, or remote location, ensuring production schedules are met. This role requires extensive knowledge of department processes and responsibilities, including the duties of Leadmen, employee selection, job training, and addressing employee performance, safety, and health issues. The Supervisor will also handle disciplinary actions when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of all personnel by prioritizing safe work practices and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Supervise Leadmen and laborers to ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop weekly production and labor schedules, oversee the submission of production paperwork, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for equipment repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Manage material purchasing to ensure smooth and safe department operations.
  • Oversee and guide Leadmen/Zone Leaders, ensuring all tasks are performed accurately and safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the department or location and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for employees and address any performance or safety issues that may require disciplinary actions.
  • Review and approve employee requests for PTO, vacation, or personal leave, and ensure accurate payroll submissions.
  • Complete ERP entries and daily reports on time and conduct inspections as required.
  • Program equipment, read and interpret drawings, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and quality teams as needed.
  • Inspect parts prior to shipping to ensure they meet customer specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in math and measurement techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to supervise, train, and counsel employees.
  • In-depth understanding of company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Extensive knowledge of production processes and equipment within the department or shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems and completing production reports.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of programming equipment and reading technical drawings.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, engineering, and quality assurance.
