About this Role:
As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across the facility, ensuring both the safety of the food produced and the well-being of the workforce. This role focuses on implementing sanitation best practices, supervising sanitation staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. You will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of hygiene, proactively addressing safety concerns, and contributing to the plants operational efficiency by maintaining cleanliness standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of plant sanitation, ensuring cleanliness meets company and regulatory standards.
- Supervise sanitation staff, providing training on proper sanitation procedures and safety protocols.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and implement improvements to enhance sanitation efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that sanitation processes align with production schedules and timely startups.
- Address safety concerns in the work area, ensuring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and immediately report any quality or safety issues to relevant personnel.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with associates, promoting a respectful and collaborative work environment.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sanitation staff, fostering skill growth and compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
- Work with management to create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficiency in sanitation processes.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all relevant sanitation laws, company standards, and OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in sanitation management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to direct staff and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to ensure workplace compliance.
- Effective communication skills, capable of responding to inquiries and resolving complaints in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company sanitation policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in food production sanitation with a focus on consumer food products.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Hazard Communication policies and safety training.
- Proven track record in improving sanitation efficiencies and implementing best practices in a plant environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation standards.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on safety and cleanliness.
