About the job Senior Marketing Manager (SMA) Uganda

Job brief

Flow is preparing for its next phase of growth and is seeking an experienced marketing leader to strengthen, professionalize, and scale the marketing function in support of the company's expansion. This role is not focused on direct customer acquisition; rather, it is a strategic enablement mandate aimed at ensuring that sales teams are well-supported with the right tools, messaging, and brand presence to execute effectively.

The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring that Flows' marketing efforts are structured, consistent, and closely aligned with sales and operational priorities as the business expands regionally and execution complexity increases. The role will place particular emphasis on sales enablement, brand management, and marketing execution discipline.

Key Responsibilities

The role holder will lead the design and execution of Flows marketing approach with a clear focus on supporting the sales and field teams. This includes developing and maintaining practical marketing materials such as product brochures, pitch decks, sales presentations, campaign guidelines, and field marketing tools that enable sales teams to communicate Flows value proposition clearly and consistently.

A core responsibility of the role will be strengthening Flows brand presence and market positioning. The successful candidate will ensure consistency in messaging, visual identity, and communication across all channels and customer touchpoints, reinforcing trust, credibility, and professionalism in the markets where Flow operates.

The role will also bring structure and discipline to marketing planning and execution. This includes planning and coordinating marketing activities in line with sales priorities, managing budgets and external vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of marketing support initiatives that align with business objectives.

In addition, the role holder will build and manage the internal marketing function and external partners, setting clear expectations, workflows, and performance standards. They will work closely with senior management, sales, and regional teams to translate commercial priorities into effective marketing support while continuously improving how marketing contributes to sales effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skill

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, with an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification required. A strong grounding in brand management, marketing operations, and sales enablement is essential.

The candidate must bring a minimum of eight (8) years progressive marketing experience, with demonstrated exposure to scaling or high-growth organisations, particularly in sales-led or field-driven environments. Proven experience in building structured marketing functions that support sales teams and strengthen brand execution is critical.

In addition, the candidate must have demonstrable experience working within, or in close collaboration with, a professional marketing agency environment. This experience should reflect a strong understanding of agency standards in campaign development, brand positioning, creative execution, and performance-driven marketing delivery. Exposure to agency processes, client servicing discipline, and multi-channel campaign management will be considered a significant advantage.

The role requires a strong understanding of how marketing supports revenue generation without directly owning sales targets, as well as the ability to translate business strategy into clear messaging, tools, and execution plans.

The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, execution-focused, and comfortable operating in fast-moving, operationally intensive environments. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, alongside the confidence to work closely with senior leaders, influence cross-functional teams, and drive consistent execution. High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail are required.

    Reporting Line

The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with the Sales, Operations, and Regional Leadership teams.

    Why This Role Exists
