Job Openings E&I Maintenance Manager (Process Plant)

About the job E&I Maintenance Manager (Process Plant)

Location: Saraburi, Thailand
Industry: Specialty Chemicals / Continuous Process Manufacturing
Work Model: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established international manufacturer operating a continuous-process plant environment in Thailand. The site plays a critical role in regional production and operates within a structured multinational setting with strong safety expectations, established engineering standards, and ongoing investment in plant reliability and system improvement. The organization is looking to strengthen its Electrical & Instrumentation leadership capability at site level through the appointment of an experienced E&I Engineering Manager.

The Opportunity

This is a plant-based engineering leadership role for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation professional with strong maintenance depth in a live process manufacturing environment. While the title is framed as an engineering leadership role, the practical reality is that this is a maintenance-led position within a continuous production plant. The person in this role will take ownership of E&I maintenance performance, equipment reliability, breakdown response, troubleshooting quality, and team capability. Over time, the role also offers potential to grow into broader maintenance leadership scope.

This opportunity will suit someone who is technically credible, comfortable in an instrumentation-heavy plant, and able to lead a team in an environment where uptime, safety, and maintenance discipline matter every day.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Plant E&I Maintenance Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities across electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Maintain asset reliability and support stable plant operations in a continuous-process environment
  • Ensure maintenance work is executed on time, to standard, and with minimal disruption to production
  • Support improvement of plant uptime through stronger maintenance planning and execution

Troubleshooting, Analysis, and Technical Decision-Making

  • Lead technical troubleshooting for E&I-related failures and abnormalities
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective action to reduce repeat issues
  • Make sound technical decisions under plant operating pressure
  • Strengthen the site's overall technical problem-solving capability within the E&I function

Control Systems and Critical Equipment Support

  • Support the reliability and maintenance of DCS, PLC, power distribution, UPS, field instrumentation, and related plant control systems
  • Work within an automated plant environment where instrumentation and control stability are central to operations
  • Support ongoing upgrades and system improvement initiatives where relevant

Cost, Planning, and Maintenance Discipline

  • Review maintenance schedules and follow through on PM/CM execution
  • Support reduction of breakdown losses, PM slippage, and repair inefficiencies
  • Help manage maintenance cost, contractor support, and spare parts readiness
  • Improve maintenance discipline through better planning, prioritization, and follow-up

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead engineers, technicians, and contractor resources within the E&I function
  • Coach and develop team capability over time
  • Build trust through technical credibility, clear direction, and practical leadership
  • Contribute to a stronger and more self-sufficient maintenance organization at site level

Projects and Plant Improvement

  • Support E&I-related modifications, upgrades, and brownfield improvement work
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders on engineering activities
  • Ensure technical documents and drawings are updated appropriately
  • Contribute to long-term site improvement through practical engineering input

What We Are Looking For

Required Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Around 15 years or more of relevant experience in E&I maintenance within an industrial plant
  • Strong experience in continuous-process manufacturing such as chemicals, petrochemicals, industrial gas, power, cement, or similar heavy process industries
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot plant E&I issues and make practical technical decisions
  • Working knowledge of DCS, PLC, electrical systems, instrumentation, and maintenance workflows
  • Experience leading engineers, technicians, and/or contractors in a plant environment
  • Good working English for technical and business communication in a multinational environment

Preferred Experience

  • Background in chemical or petrochemical manufacturing
  • Experience with Yokogawa, Honeywell, or other major DCS platforms
  • Familiarity with SAP PM or similar maintenance systems
  • Exposure to shutdowns, root cause analysis, reliability improvement, and contractor safety management
  • Broader maintenance exposure beyond pure discipline-specific work is an advantage

What This Role Is

  • A plant-based E&I leadership role in a real manufacturing environment
  • A maintenance-first role with strong technical depth
  • A position for someone who enjoys solving operational problems, not sitting in endless meetings pretending that PowerPoint fixes pumps
  • A role with future growth potential into wider maintenance leadership, for the right person

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a purely project engineering position
  • Not a facilities-only or utilities-only management role
  • Not a design office or EPC coordination role
  • Not suitable for someone whose experience is mainly automation integration without direct plant maintenance ownership

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • Join an established international manufacturer with a structured operating environment
  • Take on a visible engineering leadership role tied directly to plant reliability and performance
  • Work in a continuous-process setting where your decisions have real operational impact
  • Step into a role with future leadership runway for someone who proves both technical strength and managerial capability

Location

This role is based on-site in Saraburi. It is best suited to candidates who are already in the area, within realistic commuting distance, or genuinely open to relocating for a plant-based leadership role.
