About the job Senior Key Account Executive - Modern Trade (Pet Food / FMCG)
About Our Client
Our client is a regional pet food company with established brands across Southeast Asia. The company offers dry and wet food products for dogs and cats, with a growing presence in Thailand and strong brand performance in nearby markets. As the Thailand business continues to grow, the company is looking for a hands-on Key Account professional to help develop its modern trade and selected retail channels.
Your Role
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys building business, working with retail buyers, and turning account plans into visible results on the shelf. You will support the company's growth in Thailand by developing modern trade and key account opportunities, working with buyers, supporting product listings, and coordinating retail activities with regional marketing and local distribution partners.
This is not a large corporate account maintenance role where everything is already set up. It is a good opportunity for someone who wants to be closer to the business, work directly with decision makers, and play a meaningful role in building a growing category in Thailand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage modern trade and key account opportunities in Thailand.
- Build relationships with buyers, category managers, and relevant retail stakeholders.
- Support product listing discussions, SKU expansion, shelf visibility, and promotional opportunities.
- Work with retail accounts on product range, pricing input, promotion planning, and activity execution.
- Coordinate with distributors to support stock availability, delivery alignment, and account-level execution.
- Work with the regional marketing team on retail activities, promotion calendars, and in-store visibility.
- Prepare and present product and commercial information to buyers.
- Monitor market activity, competitor presence, pricing, shelf displays, and category movement.
- Provide regular updates on account progress, market feedback, and business opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in Key Account, Modern Trade Sales, Channel Sales, Business Development, or Retail Account Management.
- Background in pet food, pet care, FMCG, food, beverage, household products, personal care, or consumer goods is preferred.
- Experience working with modern trade, supermarkets, hypermarkets, wholesalers, or convenience channels is an advantage.
- Understanding of product listing, shelf placement, promotion planning, and retail execution.
- Comfortable speaking with buyers and preparing account or product presentations.
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a growing business environment.
- Able to work independently while coordinating with local and regional teams.
- Thai fluency is required.
- Good English communication is required for reporting and coordination with regional management.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with accounts such as Big C, Lotus, Makro, Tops, Gourmet, CJ, Lawson, or other retail/convenience formats.
- Exposure to SKU listing, new product launches, trade promotion, shelf facings, or secondary displays.
- Experience working with distributors, trade marketing, or regional marketing teams.
- Previous experience in pet food or pet care products would be valuable, but strong FMCG modern trade experience is also relevant.
Working Style
This role fits someone who likes practical commercial work and enjoys seeing results in the market. You should be comfortable meeting customers, following up with buyers, coordinating internally, and solving small day-to-day issues that come with growing a retail channel. The company values someone who is responsible, curious, and willing to take ownership rather than waiting for every instruction.
