Key Responsibilities:
The Safety Manager / Site Safety Supervisor is responsible for managing, administering, and implementing all health and safety processes to ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company requirements. This role covers, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Ensure the existence, implementation, and awareness of an appropriate and relevant Health & Safety Policy.
- Provide up-to-date safety information, guidance, and supervision relating to health and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace with minimal risk to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure plant, machinery, tools, and equipment are safe for use, including proper movement, storage, handling, and maintenance of materials and substances.
- Ensure adequate provision and maintenance of first aid facilities, welfare facilities, and emergency support.
- Conduct timely risk assessments (HIRARC) and ensure effective implementation of control measures identified from the assessments.
- Establish and maintain emergency procedures, including fire response, evacuation plans, first aid arrangements, safety signage, personal protective equipment (PPE), and incident reporting to relevant authorities.
- Liaise and coordinate with external organizations, authorities, consultants, and auditors as required, and assist in audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Ensure workplace conditions comply with health, safety, and welfare requirements, including ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitation, washing, and rest facilities.
- Prevent or adequately control exposure to hazardous substances and risks arising from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation, and manual handling hazards.
- Carry out monitoring, surveillance, and reporting on health and safety performance, practices, and systems.
- Report safety performance, incidents, and non-compliance issues to management and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
