Company Background:

We are representing a world-leading logistics solutions provider that is seeking an Lead Analyst, Trade Compliance for its new start-up plant in Johor Bahru.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate International Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers.
  • Oversee import and export shipment documentation to ensure smooth customs clearance.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian and international trade regulations, including customs requirements and tariff classifications.
  • Resolve complex customs issues, shipment holds, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Liaise with logistics teams, brokers, carriers, and government authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review and improve shipping guides, SOPs, and compliance processes.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, root cause analysis (RCCA), and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics and trade compliance projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, process enhancement, standardization).
  • Support value-added logistics and compliance improvement projects across the network.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or international logistics.
  • Strong hands-on experience in international trade compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of freight forwarding operations and customs brokerage processes.
  • In-depth understanding of Malaysian Customs regulations, import/export procedures, FCZ regulations, and tariff classifications.
  • Well-versed in Incoterms 2020, rules of origin (including ASEAN Free Trade Agreements), and customs valuation principles.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations such as U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and EU dual-use regulations.
  • Experience liaising with government agencies (e.g., MITI, MIDA, SIRIM, Customs) and managing customs brokers.
  • Good understanding of Malaysia–Singapore cross-border customs regulations and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex compliance issues.

  • Permanent employment
  • Working hours : Monday to Friday | 8.30am to 6.00pm
  • Remuneration package : Basic + 13 months salary
  • Benefits: Medical
  • Annual leave : 16 days
