We are representing our client who is a manufacturing HDPE & PP Resin. Our client is currently looking for experience candidates from the manufacturing industry to fill the General Manager (NEW POSITION) to be based in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan

Location : Nilai, Negeri Sembilan

Salary : up to RM15,000 (Basic)

Working Days : 5.5 days per week (Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm / Saturday 8am-1pm)

Position Title : General Manager

Report to : Director

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday (8.00am to 5.00pm)
  • Saturday (8.00am to 1.00pm)

Overview:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a department focused on recycling plastic scraps and manufacturing HDPE & PP Resin. This role will require a strong operational mindset, a focus on process improvement, and a deep understanding of the plastic industry. The GM will oversee a team of approximately 100 employees, with a foreign-to-local ratio of 80:20.

Job Scope:

  • Operational Excellence:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and standardized processes.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Process Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of the recycling and manufacturing processes, including procurement, production, quality control, and logistics.
    • Optimize production schedules and workflows to maximize productivity.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of operations professionals.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Motivate and empower employees to achieve their full potential.
  • Equipment and Maintenance:
    • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of production equipment.
    • Ensure the timely procurement and replacement of equipment as needed.
    • Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and increase equipment reliability.
  • Quality Control:
    • Establish and implement quality control standards and procedures.
    • Monitor product quality throughout the production process.
    • Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Manage the procurement of raw materials and ensure timely delivery.
    • Coordinate logistics and transportation to optimize supply chain efficiency.
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the plastic industry, with a focus on recycling and manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., ERP systems, data analysis tools).
  • Able to speak good English and Mandarin (due to business nature)
