We are representing our client; one of the leading pastries and bakeries in Perak. Currently with 14 bakeries outlet in Perak, along with 2 hype and buzzing pastries cafés in Selangor.

  • Technical Pastry Chef - Taiwan Style Bread
  • Technical Pastry Chef - Cake and Dessert
  • Technical Pastry Chef - Croissant and French / European bread

Work Location: HQ in Ipoh, Perak (Central Kitchen)

  • Accommodation allowance provided (for outstation candidates)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Production Bakers
  • Develop and create new bakery recipes for bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts, aligning with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Experiment with various ingredients, techniques, and flavor profiles to enhance the quality, taste, and texture of products.
  • Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of pastry production, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Prepare and bake a variety of bread and pastries, following recipes and production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards in appearance, texture, and taste, making adjustments to recipes and processes as needed.
  • Innovate by experimenting with new recipes, ingredients, and techniques to create unique bakery products.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory levels communicate with the purchasing department for timely restocking and minimize waste by efficiently using ingredients and managing production quantities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related working experience.
  • Possess a culinary degree or equivalent certification in bakery or pastry arts, food science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Bakery Chef, or R&D Chef in the food industry, with a focus on bakery products.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functionality, and recipe formulation.
  • Creativity, innovation, and passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentations.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating product quality, conducting sensory analysis, and interpreting feedback.
  • Project management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate R&D projects.
  • Communication, collaboration, and presentation skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with food regulations, labeling requirements, and industry best practices in bakery R&D.
