Product & Marketing Manager (Wire & Cable Industry)

Company Background

We are representing our client a public listed company focusing on manufacturing and distributing power cables, control and instrumentation cables. With the current business expansion, our client is seeking for an experience candidate within the cable & wire industry to fill the position of Product Manager.

Work Location: Can be based either in Selangor OR Melaka

Working Hours: Mon-Fri (8.30am-5.30pm)

Main Responsibilities

Industry Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with M&E Consultants, EPCC
  (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) firms,
  and other key stakeholders.
  o Act as the technical expert and primary point of contact for product brand spec in related project and inquiries.

Market Research and Analysis:

• Conduct market surveys to identify trends, opportunities, and customer
  needs in the wire and cable industry.
• Analyze market data to develop strategies for product positioning and
  differentiation.
  

Product Specification and Development:

• Collaborate with the engineering and R&D teams to define product specifications tailored to various industries, including:
• Data Centers
• Commercial Buildings
• Infrastructure Projects
• Industrial Applications
• Renewable Energy Projects
  Ensure products meet industry standards, customer requirements, and
  regulatory compliance.

• Provide technical support and product recommendations for projects
  across target industries.
• Work closely with the sales team to ensure alignment between product
  offerings and project requirements.
  

Product Lifecycle Management:

• Monitor competitor products and market trends to identify areas for
  improvement or new product development.
  

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

• Conduct training sessions for internal teams, customers, and partners on product features, applications, and benefits.
• Develop technical documentation, brochures, and marketing materials to support product promotion.
  

Sales and Business Development Support:

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and expand market share.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events to promote products and build brand awareness.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 
• Additional qualifications in Business Admin, Marketing or Product Management will be an added advantage.
• Min 5-7 years experience in the wire and cable indutry or related field (e.g. electrical products, building materials).
• Proven experience working with M&E Consultants, EPCC firms.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, building materials and industry standards.
• Good market research and analytical skills.
• Strong technical knowledge of wire and cable products and their application.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills.
• Willing to travel for client meetings, site visits and industry events.
