Company Background

We are representing our client, a new start-up in Malaysia that operates a Loan-Matching Platform, in their search for a Partnerships & Business Development Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently prospect, engage and secure partnership agreements with Malaysian banks and licensed money-lenders, to integrate with the company platform
  • Build the pipeline of institutional partner leads, develop business cases, negotiate terms, close deals, and onboard partners to live-status
  • Manage end-to-end partner lifecycle: from engagement to onboarding to activation to growth and retention
  • Work cross‐functionally with product, operations, marketing, compliance teams to ensure seamless partner integration and performance
  • Set and monitor partner KPIs (loan flow volumes, partner growth, partner satisfaction metrics) and deliver results against targets
  • Represent the company at industry events, build the brand in the finance/lending ecosystem, and maintain high credibility with partner stakeholders
  • Continuously map the Malaysian banking and licensed-lender ecosystem, identify new opportunities and competitive threats, and advise senior management on strategic partnership growth

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in any related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of business development or strategic partnerships experience in financial services/fintech in Malaysia (or comparable market)
  • Demonstrable track record of closing partnerships or collaborations with Malaysian banks and/or licensed money‐lenders
  • Established network of senior decision-makers (VP / Head Partnerships / BD) in Malaysian banks or licensed money-lenders 
  • Commercial and strategic thinking: understands business models, financial metrics, partner economics, and regulatory/compliance context in banking/lending
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, especially at institutional level
  • Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin / Cantonese
