Technical Director

As the Technical Director, you will lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of our platform to establish Cognotiv as a leader in the Adult Learning & Development ecosystem. Reporting directly to the executive team, you'll oversee the end-to-end technical lifecycle, guiding innovation and ensuring that technology strategies align seamlessly with business objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This role involves regional travel across ASEAN.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Vision & Strategy: Develop and drive the technical roadmap to realize our platform's potential.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled software and AI engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Product Development: Partner with product management teams to translate business requirements into scalable, robust technical solutions.
• System Architecture: Design, implement, and oversee secure, scalable, and future-proof system architecture.
• Technology Advancements: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance platform functionality and user experience.
• Development Standards: Establish and enforce best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, and deployment.
• Technical Governance: Proactively manage technical debt and ensure continuous improvement of the technology stack.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work across teams to align technical capabilities with the product roadmap and broader business goals.
• Problem Resolution: Lead critical technical issue resolution and make informed architectural decisions to ensure stability.
• Data Privacy & Security: Spearheaded compliance with data security regulations and implemented cutting-edge data protection measures.
• Industry Expertise: Stay ahead of EdTech, Adult Learning, and related technology trends and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven software and product development leadership, strongly emphasizing B2B PaaS or SaaS platforms.
• Technical Expertise:
• Programming Languages & Frameworks: Golang, Vue 3, Laravel (R1), JavaScript (R1), TypeScript.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL (R1), Redis.
• Cloud Technologies: AWS (EC2, Load Balancer, S3, SQS, Lambda Functions for AI, SSL Certificates).
• Containerization & Infrastructure: Docker, Nginx, NSQ.
• Machine Learning & AI: Experience with LLM (Large Language Models) and AI-driven features, especially in adaptive learning systems.
• Development Methodologies: Agile software development, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security & Compliance: Expertise in implementing robust data protection measures and adhering to education sector standards.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and nurture high-performing technical teams.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
