About the job Opportunities in Private Equity
Private Equity
Private equity (PE) funds invest in private, non-listed companies with the aim of increasing the profitability of these companies and thus selling them at a profit after a certain period of time. In private equity, your task is to identify suitable companies, understand the key value drivers and determine a suitable purchase price. Subsequently, the PE Fund will try to manage and scale the company in the best possible way. In doing so, PE Fund employees often fill key positions in the company, such as CFO or CTO. The final sale at the right time requires a lot of M&A experience and close collaboration with various advisors (M&A, Legal, Tax, TS, etc.).
Development opportunities:
Since private equity requires quite a bit of know-how, entry-level positions directly after graduation are rather rare. Especially in higher positions, one is directly involved in the success of the respective transactions and thus has a strong influence on one's own earning potential. Exits from private equity usually occupy high management positions at large companies (often former portfolio companies) or found their own company.
