About the Role
The Senior Developer will own significant features and architectural decisions on the Microsoft stack (C#/.NET, Azure, SQL Server), mentor junior engineers, lead code reviews, and partner with engineering leadership on the roadmap. As the platform evolves from a legacy on-premises product to a modern cloud-native solution, this role will be central to that transformation.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design, development, testing, and delivery of complex features
• Lead architectural decisions balancing performance, security, maintainability, and cost
• Drive modernization of legacy systems to Azure cloud-native architecture
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and service integrations
• Represent engineering in cross-functional conversations
• Champion secure development practices and contribute to compliance initiatives
• Own production reliability, including on-call response and root-cause analysis
• Improve automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment practices
• Document technical designs and operational runbooks

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with technical leadership
• Deep proficiency in C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core)
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Storage, Identity)
• Strong SQL Server experience (schema design, query optimization, stored procedures)
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and service integration patterns
• Track record of owning complex technical work end-to-end
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and raise team standards
• Strong commitment to secure coding practices and software quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading cloud migrations to Azure
• Familiarity with SOC II compliance or secure development lifecycles
• Experience with Power BI, Laserfiche, or analytics tools
• QA infrastructure and automated testing frameworks experience
• Experience with government or enterprise SaaS systems
