About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join a growing product development team focused on building high-quality native Android applications. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Kotlin-based development, modern Android architecture, and delivering scalable, user-friendly mobile experiences.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA teams to develop, enhance, and maintain mobile applications used by customers across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications.
  • Build scalable and maintainable mobile solutions using modern Android development practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and application defects.
  • Write and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java experience is a plus).
  • Solid experience with the Android SDK and Android application lifecycle.
  • Experience developing applications for smartphones and tablets.
  • Strong understanding of MVVM and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based UI development.
  • Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with OAuth, JWT authentication, and secure mobile development practices.
  • Experience with local data storage solutions such as Room Database, SQLite, or DataStore.
  • Experience using Git in collaborative development environments.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Firebase services.
  • Experience with Android Jetpack libraries.
  • Knowledge of push notifications and background services.
  • Experience with Retrofit or similar networking libraries.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
  • Previous experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
