Contract Duration: 02 Sep 2024 - 31 Jul 2025 (with the option to extend for 3 years)
Hours: 40 hours/week
EU Citizenship: Dutch passport required
Language Requirement: Must be fluent in Dutch
Screening Requirement: Mandatory VGB-B screening (approximately 2 months) before starting

Role Overview

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for the custom development of Java applications, including the development of Eclipse plugins, within Atos' department in Amstelveen, Netherlands. This role requires a deep understanding of network management tools and the ability to work independently while contributing valuable knowledge to the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Java Development: Custom development of Java applications with a focus on Eclipse plugins and Rich Client Platform (RCP).
  • Network Infrastructure: Participate in the development of robust and reliable network infrastructure using standard building blocks, ensuring reliable and secure access to information.
  • System Integration: Develop and manage systems that support local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), allowing stakeholders to communicate and share data securely.
  • Continuous Improvement: Adapt department products to evolving standard building blocks and integrate new client requirements into the existing concepts.
  • Collaboration: Work within the department to ensure that all stakeholders can build and maintain effective networks that meet their needs.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Education: At least an HBO diploma or an MBO level 4 diploma with 10 years of demonstrable work experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of demonstrable work experience as a Java developer.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in Dutch (both verbal and written), with a minimum of B1 level proficiency. This will be tested during the interview process.
  • Eclipse Plugins: Demonstrable experience in developing Eclipse plugins/RCP.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and effectively contribute knowledge to the team.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Network Management Tools: Experience with network management tool development.
  • Groovy / Jenkins: Experience working with Groovy and Jenkins.
  • Build Tooling: Experience with build tooling.
  • Classified Environments: Experience working in and on highly classified environments, particularly with secure information facilities.
