Job Description:
Europe Government funded organisation seeking a highly experienced freight forwarding specialist within its Global Logistics Team. Response organisation operating across the globe, the transportation of equipment forms a critical part of a successful response.
Based in Singapore, you will be focused on supporting day-to-day shipments of equipment to support projects, & point of contact during an emergency activation. This exciting role also has the opportunity to deliver consultancy work to customers to ensure the most effective emergency response plans.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 830am - 5pm
- On-call approximately 1 week in 4 (24/7), 1-hour call (remote support and potential site support only if necessary)

Responsibilities
Responsible for export, import and transport of shipments by road, sea, and air to ensure internal and external customer requirements are met and goods are delivered on time, liaising directly with the customers, agents & internal stakeholders
Develop excellent working relationships with freight forwarders, charter brokers and other cargo movement enablers to carry out equipment movement activity.
Negotiate and arrange international shipments with freight brokers, international carriers and/or freight forwarders.
Create required documentation for import and export, including Commercial Invoice, Packing Lists and Shippers Declaration (road, sea, and air).
Maintain shipment records including customs accounts.
Performing auditing and assurance activities under direction from Senior Logistics Lead Singapore to guarantee the accuracy of logistics records and procedures.
POC with customers on a regular basis to share information, raise awareness, improve services and manage expectations of the global logistics function.
Organises external and internal training & audits ensuring compliance of legislation including purchasing of required dangerous goods manuals.
Responsible for providing technical logistics support and assistance to other departments as directed by the Senior Logistics Lead Singapore.
Responsible for developing, reviewing, and updating operational guidelines and procedures for logistics services.
Requirements for Role :
Operational knowledge gained within the International Freight Forwarding arena covering road, sea and air transport.
Demonstrable knowledge of delivering solutions for project logistics and complex scenarios in a high-pressure environment.
Qualifications and practical experience creating required documentation for Dangerous Goods by all modes of transport.
Excellent working knowledge of managing import and export of goods and associated documentation.
Working knowledge and operational use of INCOTERMS.
Practical experience of identifying HS codes and commodity classification.
Sound understanding of performance management and customer service as key success factors.
Bachelor level academic education within Logistics / Supply Chain (or similar).
Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office.
Maintain excellent planning, organizational and communication skills.
Strong spoken and written communication skills.
Strong and effective team working abilities and the ability to work on own initiative.
Ability to demonstrate versatility and adaptability in all areas.
Good problem-solving abilities in challenging environments.
Preferred
Knowledge of oversized cargo transportation
Experience in ERP systems
Member of a logistics, supply chain or procurement institute
Project Management knowledge and understanding of MS Project
