As a Subcontracts Administrator at Talent Source, you will be responsible for managing subcontracting activities and relationships within the shipyard environment. Below are the key responsibilities and requirements for this position:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement of subcontracted services and materials required for shipyard projects, including solicitation, negotiation, and administration of subcontract agreements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors, including conducting pre-qualification assessments, evaluating capabilities, and negotiating terms and conditions.
- Review subcontractor proposals, bids, and quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements, technical specifications, and cost objectives.
- Negotiate subcontract terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and scope of work, to achieve favorable outcomes for the company.
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements, including reviewing and processing change orders, amendments, and modifications as necessary.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Resolve disputes and issues arising from subcontractor relationships, including claims, delays, and non-performance, through effective communication and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate subcontracting activities and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of subcontracting activities, including contract documents, correspondence, and performance evaluations.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in subcontracting and procurement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a subcontract administrator or procurement specialist, preferably in the shipyard or maritime industry.
- Knowledge of subcontracting principles, practices, and regulations, including FAR/DFARS requirements.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with subcontractors and vendors.
- Proficiency in contract administration software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Professional certification in procurement or contract management is a plus.
